ON THE SLOPES
After you’ve enjoyed skiing and riding with the sun on your back, settle back with a drink and enjoy free music concerts on the ski hill. Every Saturday and Sunday in April, head to the Kokanee Kabin at the Lake Louise Ski Resort and listen to live music during their Spring Music Series, featuring local favourites such as Big Fonts, Aaron Pollock, Elk Run & Riot and Smalltown DJ's. Or grab a cold one and take a seat on the Trapper's patio to enjoy the sounds of spring at Sunshine Village. Free outdoor concerts every weekend until the end of May are open to all Sunshine Village on-mountain guests.
Celebrate great spring skiing and riding and the end of the winter season at Lake Louise with the most explosive spring party in the Rocky Mountains – Shake the Lake! Watch as local talent throw down their finest tricks in the Rail Jam, then join in on fun charity events and kid-friendly activities. The epic "Shake the Lake" After-Party takes place after the sun goes down in the Lodge of Ten Peaks. Party and dance all night long as DJs spin tunes at this adult-only event.
Tip: Reserve your "Shake the Lake" after-party tickets in advance and take the roundtrip bus service available from Banff and Lake Louise for maximum fun.
Sunshine Village's largest event of the year is held on the last day of the season. The 89th Annual Slush Cup on May 22 boasts a competition where participants ski or snowboard down a run into an icy pool of water. Also known as pond skiiming, if you can skim across to the end of the pool you may just take home top prize!
Tip: Registration takes place at 8:30 a.m. outside the Sunshine Village Ski School desk. This is the only opportunity to register, so be there dressed up and ready to skim.
Additional spring events include the Sunshine Bourgeau Bonfire Bash, Bikinis for Breast Cancer and Bozo Cup Memorial Weekend at Mt Norquay, to name a few
